Greetings,
Alright, settle down.
First, a small word to those who already know this stuff:
Everyone does NOT know this, maybe you and a handful of others do. Despite how easy I'll make it sound, it still takes a strong will to put it all into play, and a great load of doubt to overcome, but nonetheless, here it is...
TRIANGULATING WITH GOOGLE ADWORDS
=================================
The basics aren't so difficult or even
secret, but the biggest obstacle most
will ever have to overcome is to discover
that this is really possible and just
staring them in the face all the while.
Now instead of going into reams of theory
which I, and many otheres, sometimes love
to do (hear ourselves talk, that is...),
I'm just going to give you an example of
what *I* would do and how *I* would go about this...
I'm also going to be giving those of you
who can use it a very nice little niche
to dominate....for a while, as you'll soon see.
I take something that isn't ordinarily popular,
but is extremely popular due to current events.
(As time goes on you'll get better and better
at spotting these on the horizon and start to
act sooner and sooner). Take....
SPACE SHUTTLE
Woohoo...searched about 42,000 times according
to overture, so we know that really means probably
like 20,000 times. Huge? No. Niche-worthy, yes.
Already it has some competition in paid sponsors.
Now,I could get all intamellectual and try to find out
if I could outbid them or get in for cheap, and that
IS a very valid way to go...but let's just say I'm
REEEEEALLY LAZY, and I don't want to have to do all
that work....
....that means I really don't even want to scan down
overtures keyword list and test out all those keywords
to see if there's anything worth competing for. But
again, that is VALID and a GOOD IDEA if you're comfy
making the effort.
So I figured since everyone is so concerned about it,
and since we've already had TWO, I'd check out the
term:
SPACE SHUTTLE DISASTERNow that's not nice, is it? No, but that won't stop
space exploration enthusiasts from buying models of
the space shuttle will it? Will it stop them from
looking for space exploration memorabilia on Ebay
or Amazon? I don't THINK so....!
So now I hear a voice exclaim, "Wow! I can own
that keyword for a nickel per click! Woweeee!"
and with my new found energy, I can perform extra
tasks even...so I run to do an OVERTURE search at
Rich Rubinstein's (DoctorDuplicator.com)very cool, new keyword research app:
http://www.cheapcalls.com/keywords/form_template.htmSPACE SHUTTLE DISASTERAnd lo and behold!
931 space shuttle disaster
926 space shuttle columbia disaster
726 space shuttle challenger disaster
59 cause disaster illness shuttle space
35 space shuttle disaster 2003
35 columbia space shuttle disaster picture
34 first space shuttle disaster
33 video of space shuttle challenger disaster
31 space shuttle columbia disaster video
27 space shuttle challenger disaster 1986
27 columbia space shuttle disaster photo
27 disaster in people shuttle sickens space texas
25 disaster from illness shuttle space
25 disaster reason shuttle space
I really only care about the 1st three:
931 space shuttle disaster
926 space shuttle columbia disaster
726 space shuttle challenger disasterOk, so I've got me the makings of a sweet
little niche - until about 4-5 weeks after
the shuttle lands safely and so on, but even
after that, at a nickel per click, I'd leave
the campaign in place because it all comes
down to ROI. If ever nickel can get me a
dollar....then I don't care if 40,000 people
searched it that month, or 500.
It's free money and it only takes one time to
set it all up.
BUT WAIT! How the heck am I going to make
money with an adwords campaign for Space Shuttle
Disaster? I mean, who really searches on Space
Shuttle Disaster to buy something? And who really
has any kind of a worthy affiliate program for"Space Shuttle Disaster"?
I WOULD LIKE TO TAKE THIS MOMENT TO REMIND YOU
OF TWO VERY IMPORTANT MARKETING CONCEPTS:
1A) WITHIN EVERY FREEBIE SEEKER IS A CUSTOMER WAITING TO BE BORN.
1B) WITHIN EVERY CUSTOMER IS A BUSINESS
OWNER WAITING TO BE BORN.
2) WHEN PEOPLE SEARCH THE WEB, THEY ARE
NOT REALLY SEARCHING FOR FREE INFORMATION,
OR FREE STUFF. THEY ARE SEARCHING FOR AN
EXPERIENCE. IN MOST CASES, IF THEY CAN
GET IT BETTER AND MORE QUICKLY THAN FREE,
THEN THEY'LL SPEND THE $20.
3) BONUS CONCEPT! THE MONEY IS IN THE LIST.
(bet you already knew that, didn't you?)
Both you and I are examples of this and
know first-hand this is true. It's just
that now it's your turn to market to others.
So here's what *I* would do:
First, I would create a "FREE" PDF report that
began with a paragraph or two about how the web
is full of all kinds of untargeted information
about these unfortunate events in space exploration
history, "but here are some links and resources by
those best-equipped to write and speak about them."
(if you need a pdf writer, you can get one, plus free
templates here:
http://www.sam-freedom.com/sharingthelove.htmThen include a dozen or so links to web sitessuch as this:
http://www.nasa.gov/columbia/home/CAIB_Vol1.html and
http://www.nasa.gov/columbia/home/ , and
http://tinyurl.com/b98nvThen either at regular intervals or at the very
bottom, you could add a "resource section for
space exploration enthusiasts" etc
NOW...HOW TO FIND THINGS TO INCLUDE:1) cj.com - commission junction could
have some affiliate programs in there
such as military.com which has had info
about the shuttles. With a little creative
searching, you can find something there.
2) other affiliate networks similar to cj.com
3) clickbank (though I found nothing)
4) search Google using some of the OTHER more
popular space shuttle keywords and see if any
of the paid sponsors have affilite programs.
5) include aff links to ebay and amazon just
like you see in hurricane pages, etc.
6) Google for space shuttle terms and add
"affiliate program" so that sites returned
should have affiliate programs on them.
But give it your best shot and go wide. You
can include an aff program to a site for model
builders. You can include an aff program for
people who might want astronaut memorabilia.
And remember, even if a person didn't ever even
think of looking for astronaut memorabilia, etc,
when it's squarely staring at them, sometimes,
curiousity gets the better of them. If I'm
honest with myself I can say that's happened to
me a number of times.
IN SUMMARY....
Find a niche to triangulate prospects into relevant
affilite programs which would not otherwise be effective
if presented from the outset.
You create a FREE report to give the niche seeker exactly what
s/he wants thereby getting the opt-in email address, PLUS
permission to advertise to the seeker IN THE REPORT
and eventually on the backend.
Say you spend $50 on a test campaign - this will get you
1000 clickthroughs. One affiliate commission for $20 pays for
400 of those clicks....three and you're in profit.
The report is FREE, so expect a high conversion
rate from clickthrough to report request.
Can you make 3 sales? I guess it comes down to
either the affiliate program's conversion ability,
or your ability to pre-sell just before the afflinks are presented.
Having SOME marketing ability is important, but
the money is in the list, and $50 for a targeted
list is a great investment to a capable marketer.
And any commissions you make from the immediate
report offset campaign costs...
So really the sky's the limit...
Get to it...it's staring you in the face!
In fact, here's a valuable resource from
a proven expert in the field. Click the box,
and thank me later...!
Sincerely,
Sam
